Learning to Depend on Him, E.H.

I was not quite sure what to expect of the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) when I started my first semester here a year and a half ago. I just knew that I was not only going to be trained in Bible knowledge but my character would be trained as well--this was not a seminary school. I knew that through the training I would love the Lord more, know Him more, and become a more useful vessel for Him. Arrogantly, I thought that I knew God pretty well, and the Training would help me know all of God. Little did I know that the Full-Time Training would put me on a life long path of knowing Him, experiencing Him, and pursuing Him. I realize, just through this one and a half years of training, that I have only touched the tip of the iceberg. There is a vast mine of riches of God that I have yet to discover. And the best part of it all is that God is eternal and unlimited; He just keeps unfolding Himself. There is no end to experiencing God.

I appreciate Watchman Nee and Witness Lee's ministry because it encourages me to experience all the riches of Christ myself. The ministry expounds the Word and reveals all that Christ can be to us, but it always guides me back to take the objective knowledge of Christ and make it my subjective experience. The FTTA is just training me to live a normal Christian life of pursuing God, of seeking Him every morning, constantly having fellowship with Him in all that I do, showing me how these are just necessary components of a vital Christian life. Apart from Him I can do nothing (John 15:5). Two years ago I thought God needed me, now I realize how much I need Him. And it is through my daily, minute by minute dependence on Him that He can make me useful.
